Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is credited for starting the modern study of children's memories of eyewitnesses, as well as the role of children as victims in the court system. Professor Goodman published widely and has won many grants and has received numerous internationally and national awards. Her work has been with numerous government agencies and institutions across the world on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who are victims of the legal system. She acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of a variety of professional organizations, for example, that of Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She served as the head of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Psychological Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
