Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka is an American-British sitarist and musician. She is the youngest female and was the first person to receive an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young emerging star on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is the daughter and student of Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing back and forth from London and New Delhi. At New Delhi, she made her first appearance at only 13 years old. In 1999, she completed her high schooling at Encinitas CA. Anouskha's career as a recorder and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her young age. She has performed with her father on stage for many years. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. Her career on stage is extensive for she has performed in most of the major stages in the world. Anoushka's career does not only comprise the world of music. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 book, which is a tribute to Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she starred on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka Shankar is an emerging celebrity and her popularity will continue to grow. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. Anoushka started her music studies when she was nine. After four years she performed her sitar debut in Delhi for her father's 70th birthday party. Anoushka has gained lots of knowledge by traveling across the globe along with her dad. She performed at Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the youngest and sole female winner of the House of Commons Shield awarded by British Parliament for her musicianship and talent as an outstanding musician from the Asian Arts.
